The 5 Most Iconic Campervans In TV & Film
There are few more diverse symbols of Americana than the campervan. From static trailers filled with gin-soaked dreams to pimped-out, king-of-the-hill RVs larger than most flats in London. From the technicolor paintjobs of smoke-filled hippie wagons to drunk jock-filled, spring break destined party wagons, they bring together two of cinema’s greatest ingredients: The open road, and a cramped environment. Here’s a rundown of the most memorable RVs of the big and small screen: 1. Breaking Bad’s RV Meth Lab Breaking Bad reached some dizzying heights in its 5 season run. Along the way, its twisting, dramatic storylines touch on multi-conglomerate conspiracies, Mexican cartels, and remote New Hampshire cabins, so you’d be forgiven for forgetting that the first season was almost entirely focused on Walt and Jesse’s adventures in their mobile meth lab. It was in the desolate confines of...
Read MoreDrew Goddard Officially Boards Netflix & Marvel’s DAREDEVIL
Whedon-ite and lifelong Daredevil fan Drew Goddard will write and direct the first episode of Marvel’s first Netflix series Daredevil, it was announced today. I’m not familiar enough with the source material to comment on the merits of a Goddard’s Hornhead, but I do know that Goddard has been an instrumental part of the Whedon-verse for decades. Most recently he directed a script he co-wrote with Whedon for a little movie you might know called Cabin in the Woods. That resulted in one of the best horror pictures of the past 15 years. Goddard won’t leave after the first episode either. The writer/director will also stay on a showrunner and executive producer of the 13-episode season. Daredevil, of course, is just the first in a series of shows that will be produced for Netflix, including adaptations of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke...
Read MoreThe VERONICA MARS Movie Gets An Official Release Date
As someone who contributed to the Veronica Mars kickstarter ($1. What! What!), I’m eagerly awaiting the Veronica Mars movie as much as the next geek. Now Warner Bros. has made it official, the film by Rob Thomas and starring Kristen Bell will hit theaters in select cities on March 14, 2014. The film’s website actually broke the news first on Wednesday, but WB didn’t get around to confirming until yesterday. But isn’t that as it should be? I mean, the movie already went direct to fans for funding. Why not direct to fans for news about the production? Source:...

It’s been two years since Lady Gaga last took over Turkey Day with A Very Gaga Thanksgiving. And last night’s Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular didn’t disappoint (unless your a Muppet fan, because this was very much Gaga’s show). But of all the amazing things to happen last night (RuPaul and Gaga doing “Fashion,” for example), nothing topped Lady Gaga and Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s gender swapped version of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Instead of JGL begging Gaga to stay like in the traditional version, Gaga took control and wouldn’t let JGL get away. Christmas, made. Check it...
Read MoreBaz Luhrmann In Talks To Direct Kubrick’s NAPOLEON Script For HBO
Back in March, Kubrick fans got news that Steven Spielberg, who was hand-selected by Stanley Kubrick to direct A.I., would shepard a production of Kubrick’s Napoleon script for an HBO miniseries. At the time, there was no word on who exactly would helm the production, though it obviously wasn’t going to be Spielberg. Now comes word that Baz Luhrmann is in talks to direct the miniseries for HBO. Luhrmann can certainly do period, as he’s shown with both Moulin Rouge!, Australia and Gatsby. But he’s a bold, left-field choice for a production based on Kubrick’s script. But with a miniseries length and Spielberg producing, we might get a decent character out of the oh-so-hopelessly superficial director. (I love his style, don’t get me wrong.) All I have to say is bring it on. Kubrick’s screenplay is the stuff of legend. The meticulous director left...
Read MoreARROW And THE FLASH Won’t Tie Into The DC Cinematic Universe
Here’s something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. Despite rampant speculation, it looks like the CW’s Arrow and The Flash won’t crossover into the new DC Cinematic Universe, after all. Producer Greg Berlanti dropped the news in an interview with Fandango, saying: We haven’t had any of those conversations other than to say, what characters are we allowed to use this year [for the TV show] and advocate or request certain ones that are of interest to us. And every now and then, they’ll say, ‘You can’t have that guy.’ They don’t say why, and we figure out why later on. But don’t look at this as bad news, fangirls and boys. When it comes down to it, Arrow and The Flash are better off without Zack Snyder and David Goyer. Man of Steel is a good movie. It’s not entertaining, but it’s watchable. Arrow has...
