It’s Dead: CW Isn’t Moving Forward With Wonder Woman Prequel AMAZON
In a sad but not surprising move given the trouble surrounding the pilot, CW won’t be moving forward with its planned Wonder Woman origin series Amazon. To quote CW president Mark Pedowitz: We did not go forward with it. Yep, it’s that simple. Kind of. I’m sure there’s pressure from Warner Bros. to let their newly crowned Princess Diana, Gal Gadot, have some room to develop, despite that film being more than two years away. But that doesn’t mean the CW won’t take another stab at it eventually. Pedowitz again: It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow, and we’re being very careful with Flash. More so than either of those two characters, being careful and getting Wonder Woman right is a must. She’s an A-lister, while the Green Arrow and even the Flash are B-listers. But because Amazon wasn’t...
Read MoreSo Fox’s GOTHAM Series Will Be More Batman-y Than We Thought
When we first heard about Fox’s TV series Gotham, we assumed it would simply be about the evolution of Jim Gordon from beat cop to commissioner, more of a cop drama. But that may not be the case after all. At the Television Critics Association conference, Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly gave a little more detail about what to expect from the series… and it’s a little battier than we first assumed. Reilly describe the series this way: The show will arc a young Bruce Wayne from a child (around 12) into the final episode of the series, when he will put on the cape. And according to Deadline, major Batman villains like the Riddler, Catwoman, the Joker and the Penguin are all joining the fun. (Catwoman, who we now must assume is either a 10-year-old girl or a full-on cougar in her...

One of my biggest complaints about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has, from the start, been the meta narrative involving Phil Coulson’s mysterious return. It honestly isn’t really even worth speculating about. But could it all be worth it in the end? Clark Gregg, who recently read the reveal, things so. In an interview with Zap2It, Gregg described his experience this way: When I read the sequence, I just stopped and put the script down and went ‘Wow. That was worth waiting for.’ Is it enough to get audiences back to the table? If it fits in the MCU, then it might. But as someone who has tried and tried again to love this show, it’s going to take a lot to get me to buy-in. Still, a villain for the first season would have been nicer rather than wondering where zombie Coulson...

Ah, Hannibal. The TV series no one asked for but proved it’s something no one should miss. Not only was it one of last season’s best TV series, but it demonstrated that Silence of the Lambs, as great as it is, isn’t the sacred cow we thought it was. I won’t say the series is better than Jonathan Demme’s cinematic masterpiece, but it’s almost as great. NBC was this close to canceling the freshman series after a very weak first season. But they stayed the course and renewed the masterful show for a second season in May. And now we know when it’s coming back. Last week, NBC released a poster which announced the premiere date for Hannibal‘s return. When’s it coming back? Well if you couldn’t tell from the amazing poster above, the show returns on February 28, 2014, at 10...

Don’t have cable? Want to watch Better Call Saul? Well, you better get Netflix. The internet TV service has signed a deal with Sony to stream the complete first season of the Breaking Bad spinoff as soon as the last episode of the season concludes on AMC. That means, if you’re a fellow cord cutter like me, you won’t have to buy the series through Xbox Video or iTunes as it airs. And you won’t have to wait for months, ignoring your friends and family who have cable so they don’t spoil the show for you. All you have to do is wait eight short weeks from the series premiere to see Bob Odenkirk in all his Odenkirkiness. Thanks,...
Read MoreARROW Writers Talk Serums, Masks and The Flash
Who wasn’t absolutely blown away by Arrow‘s mid-season finale? Really, if you weren’t, you probably hate life. Fact. But for those of us who are madly, head-over-heels in love with the direction Arrow is headed under the creative team of Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns, well that episode was just pure wow. Of course, now we have to wait a month until the next episode of the CW’s super series hits the small screen. That isn’t stopping the team mentioned above from dropping a few hints at what we’ll see. Over at Comic Book Resources, the trio was interviewed about all things Arrow (and The Flash). For starters, the let us know exactly how (SPOILER ALERT) Roy and Slade Wilson survived the Mirakuru serum injections: What’s fun for us, as writers, is we see what Roy’s potential is to go down that...
