Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment is hoping the dystopian action flick starring Shailene Woodley and Kate Winselt, based on the bestselling YA novels by Veronica Roth, will be the next Hunger Games. We know how that has generally turned out in the past when someone says they’re looking for the next ____. Watch The Trailer For The JFK Assassination Drama PARKLAND Starring Zac Efron

In another world, Alex Cox would have directed this movie based off of his own book The President and the Provocateur. But alas, we’ll have to settle for what looks to be a rather earnest, non-Cox (and non-Oliver Stone), version of the JFK assassination. Directed by Peter Landesman from his screenplay, the film boosts a massive acting ensemble including Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thornton, Marcia Gay Harden, and Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder. There are about a dozen or so other actors you’ll know very well in this movie, too. I have no real gauge for how good or bad this movie may be because Landesman is making his feature debut here. It’s a tough topic to get right, and it looks an awful lot like Emilio Estevez’s Bobby, a film about the assassination of JFK’s brother Robert Kennedy. (That movie...

J.J. Abrams And Bad Robot Release Their Most Ridiculous Mystery Trailer Yet

Posted by on Aug 19, 2013 in Trailers | 0 comments

It’s been a while since I gave a rats ass about J.J. Abrams’ mystery projects. Usually the teases and misdirection leading up to his and his cohorts’ films add nothing, not even marketing value, to the movie. But here we are, years after Lost drove everyone insane without a pay off and months after Khan was hidden from Star Trek Into Darkness for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and Abrams is still at it. For me, the ultimate Abrams mystery is and forever will be why he ever let Felicity cut her hair. But here’s the trailer for whatever the hell his production company doing now, anyway. Try and enjoy it. I mean, they went through all this trouble to make you think they’re smarter than you are, so someone has...

Watch Saoirse Ronan Go From Sassy To Survivor In The Trailer for HOW I LIVE NOW

Kevin MacDonald’s adaptation of Meg Rosoff’s young adult novel How I Live Now wasn’t on my radar until the trailer hit. Which is surprising because the film combines two of my guiltiest pleasures: Science fiction and teen drama. The story of a girl from Manhattan who falls in love outside of London during WWIII appears at first to be your standard rebellious urban teen goes to the farm story. Then the bomb goes off. About the time Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra’s “Do It with a Rockstar” starts playing, I’m hooked. Now this, my friends, is how you cut a trailer. Whether the film is actually good, is another story. But I’m banking on the talented Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play) at the very least churning out something watchable. I mean, science fiction and teen drama....
