Benedict Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman May Have Already Signed For STAR WARS VII
It’s long (in internet years) been rumored that Benedict Cumberbatch was in fact set to join Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford in J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars VII. Of course, the denials started pretty quickly after that. But if there’s one thing we know about J.J. Abrams, it’s that you can’t trust one single thing that he or anyone involved in his movies has to say about anything.
Well over at MarketSaw, “sources” are saying that Mr. Cumberbatch is almost certainly in the film. And he’s got another British acting legend joining him:
Here’s what my source had to say about some of who will wind up being cast: Ian McDiarmid, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Warwick Davies, Benedict Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman. I believe Cumberbatch and Oldman were pursued for the same role, but I don’t know how that will work out with the script changes, but I’m told they are both involved.
Oldman and Cumberbatch? No complaints here if this is true. I’ll follow Mr. Cumberbatch to the ends of the earth. And Oldman, well, what else do I need to say.
So what do you think?
