It’s been assumed from the beginning by most fans that Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man would involve scientist Henry Pym. But new comments from Wright about just who is in the story indicate that might not be the case after all.

In a blog post discussing “doing his homework” for the Ant-Man movie, Wright posted this image:

Why is one single image important? Because the screenshot is from Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and it’s not Hank Pym’s Ant-Man, but rather Scott Lang, who… um… borrow’s Pym’s suit to go do some crimes.

According to Coming Soon, which originally posted the story, early interviews with Edgar Wright indicated that he was set on including “both… Henry Pym and Scott Lang.”

The question now is, who is Paul Rudd playing? If Lang is in the film and possibly the central character, Rudd could very well be Lang instead of Pym. Which given Rudd’s look and general lack of super scientist qualities may make more sense then having him play Pym.

What do you think?
