HANNIBAL Season 2 Gets A Poster & Premiere Date
Ah, Hannibal. The TV series no one asked for but proved it’s something no one should miss. Not only was it one of last season’s best TV series, but it demonstrated that Silence of the Lambs, as great as it is, isn’t the sacred cow we thought it was. I won’t say the series is better than Jonathan Demme’s cinematic masterpiece, but it’s almost as great.
NBC was this close to canceling the freshman series after a very weak first season. But they stayed the course and renewed the masterful show for a second season in May. And now we know when it’s coming back.
Last week, NBC released a poster which announced the premiere date for Hannibal‘s return. When’s it coming back? Well if you couldn’t tell from the amazing poster above, the show returns on February 28, 2014, at 10 p.m. ET.
Yes, that’s a Friday, kids, which means we’re either looking at the final dump for a series they were pressured by TV critics and aficionados to renew, or they’re hoping it can survive just like Grimm in the genre TV friendly Friday night spot. Here’s hoping it’s the latter.
