I’ll be honest. I haven’t watched S.H.I.E.L.D. since the show’s third episode. The series is missing a few key elements of any modern TV series, most importantly an interesting meta-narrative that ties the season together. (At least that was the case when I stopped watching.) Short of throwing up the Bat Signal (mixing comic metaphors, I know) and have Joss Whedon supervise the show, there aren’t many options for improvement.

Except crossovers. Lots and lots of crossovers.

According to Deadline, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have an episode on the Nov. 19 titled “The Well,” which is described thusly:

In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

Whether or not the blonde bombshell will make an appearance, even in the show’s end tag, is not known, but the power of a god may be the only thing able to save S.H.I.E.L.D. from its ratings decline at this point. And by god I mean Joss Whedon.
