The Non-Tenders: Nicole Kidman’s GRACE OF MONACO Pushed To 2014
Well, it looks like one princess won’t be making it to the Oscar ball this year.
The Weinstein Company has decided to move the Princess Grace biopic starring Nicole Kidman out of 2013 Oscar contention and into a less competitive date in 2014. This means that Kidman’s very slight chances at getting an Oscar nod for the role have been pushed off for a year.
But audiences won’t have to wait that long for the film to hit theaters. According to THR, the film is still planned for release in the spring of 2014.
Grace of Monaco is directed by La Vie En Rose helmer Olivier Dahan and tells the story of Grace Kelly’s controversial move from Hollywood royalty to actual royalty when she meets Monaco’s Prince Rainier III.
Fortunately for princess fans, at least one biopic is still slated for release this Oscar season: Diana starring Naomi Watts.
