Chris Carter Talks About A Possible Third X-FILES Movie
The X-Files turns 20 years old on Sept. 20 and there’s one thing fans really, really want to know: Is there going to be a third movie?
Thanks to Empire Online, which interviewed X-Files creator Chris Carter for their upcoming issue, we’ve learned that we may actually get to see more X-Files on the big screen:
“It’s really up to Twentieth Century Fox, whether they have the will to do it. I think all of us are interested in putting the band back together. I have an idea for a third movie in my head. The colonisation (sic) date has passed and that is something we wouldn’t ignore. For the second movie, we only had the budget for a standalone story, but we want to go back to the mythology.”
Oh, the possibilities. Even though I admittedly hated the last couple seasons of the show and that second movie, I still wonder what the X-Files world would have looked like after the aliens invaded. I’m a geek. I do that sort of thing.
We’re still just in the wish/dream phase of the project, but any news, in this case, is good news.
