Mitch Hurwitz has some great news for us Arrested Development fans. He’s working on the movie.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the show’s creator confirmed that a motion picture is in the works but had this to say about the future:

“I can’t get into much more detail because I don’t want to scare anybody off. I don’t want to be presumptuous about it. I don’t own the property outright – it’s a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie.”

Still, Hurwitz has a master plan. Once the movie is complete, whenever that is, he’ll move on to a fifth season of the show, presumably at Netflix.

As a defender of the fourth season (I think it’s the series’ best), I personally can’t wait to see what Hurwitz has up his sleeve for a movie and another season. And if you still don’t like that fourth season, watch it two, three or even four times. You can thank me later.
