Is JURASSIC PARK 4 Moving To 2016?
When Colin Trevorrow was announced as the director for Jurassic Park 4, it wasn’t a huge deal, other than JP4 was actually moving forward. Nothing against the guy. His Safety Not Guaranteed is alright. But it’s not great. Personally, I’d rather have Joe Johnston back. But whatever.
ANYWAY, Trevorrow’s production, it would seem, isn’t moving ahead fast enough. And Devin over at Badass Digest points us to a quote regarding the production from a recent JP fan podcast:
Steven [Spielberg] has been very closely involved in this and he cares about the franchise very much and he does not want the movie to happen unless there’s a script that deserves to be shot and I feel the exact same way and that’s what we’re doing here. And Frank [Marshall] feels the same way, so when you have three guys who feel like that sometimes you’re going to end up with a movie that gets pushed a year. But, in the end, however it turns out, the one thing no one’s going to be able to say is that we didn’t give a shit or that we phoned it in ’cause that is not true.
Let me pull out the most important part again:
…when you have three guys who feel like that sometimes you’re going to end up with a movie that gets pushed a year.
So it sounds like Trevorrow is already managing expectations. Considering Jurassic Park 4 hasn’t even set a release date in an already crowded 2015, it may be for the best that it moves once again to 2016. No need to rush it. This is a timeless franchise, and one more year isn’t going to hurt anyone.
What do you think? Are you willing to wait another year for Jurassic Park 4?
