6 Actors Who May Play Batman In The SUPERMAN/BATMAN Movie

While there isn’t even a script yet, the casting rumblings for the sequel to Man of Steel, which features both Superman AND Batman, have begun. It’s already been reported that WB wants a 40-something actor to star as the Caped Crusader, and that Frank Miller, whose Dark Knight Returns will set the tone for the picture, may consult on the project. With an older, more grizzled Bats in mind, The Hollywood Reporter has put together the shortlist of actors that are said to be being considered for the role.

1. Josh Brolin

According to THR, Brolin is currently said to be the frontrunner for the role.

2. Ryan Gosling

Only God Forgives showed be can be both pretty and ugly.

3. Joe Manganiello

Was even up for Superman in Man of Steel.

4. Richard Armitage

Another Brit in the mix to play the Bats.

5. Max Martini

Perennial tough guy.

6. Matthew Goode

The youngest on the list but he has a Snyder connection as one of the actors in Snyder’s Watchmen.

But that’s not all. There’s possibly a seventh contender. AICN pointed to Latino Review’s contenders list with an additional name, and on that has a Snyder connection as well: Gerald Butler. So the Spartan King may also become the Dark Knight.
