Stephen Amell Wants His Green Arrow To Be In JUSTICE LEAGUE
I’ll give it to Arrow. The CW show, obviously influenced by the Nolan-verse, took a brooding Green Arrow and made a better Batman TV show that’s more entertaining than two out of three The Dark Knight trilogy movies and Man of Steel. Now the show’s star Stephen Amell wants to take his version of “the Hood” to the big screen in the Justice League movie. He’s so eager to be in it, in fact, that he would even “sweep [the set] the floors when they were done!”
In an interview with SciFi NOW, Amell had this to say about making Arrow into a top tier hero:
“I think that Green Arrow has an opportunity to mature in much the same way Iron Man did in the Marvel universe. He wasn’t necessarily a top level character, but because they made an Iron Man movie and it was successful, it vaulted him up and now he anchors the Avengers.”
So why not? If The Avengers can have it’s own series with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then this particular version of the Green Arrow, could fit right in given the current somber DC cinematic tone. Sure “the Hood” is more Batman than Batman, but DC could use a Batman with much more swagger anyway. Do we really need another brooding Bruce Wayne after Christian Bale made us all want to slit our wrists?
And while we’re at it, let Ryan Reynolds’s Green Lantern back on the team, too. Sure that movie sucked, but he’s still the perfect Hal Jordan.
So there you go DC, three characters/actors for the Justice League movie that’s probably never going to happen on its way. This is easy.
