The poster for Spike Lee’s adaptation of the cult Korean film Oldboy has finally hit. And at first, I thought this poster was fake. No, not because is kind of bizarre. It’s because it says “A Spike Lee Film” instead of “A Spike Lee Joint.” What’s up with that Filmdistrict?

Anyway, I’m probably more eager to see this movie than the people who actually enjoyed the original Oldboy, a movie that, like Boondock Saints, I’m annoyed by because people tell me just how good it is all the time. It’s not. But maybe Spike Lee, who can make a masterpiece out of pretty much any material (see Inside Man), will get me on board.
