One Comic Dares To Ask: What If Michael J. Fox Never Replaced Eric Stoltz In BACK TO THE FUTURE?

It’s close to common knowledge at this point that Eric Stoltz was Marty McFly for 5 weeks of shooting on Back to the Future.  But what if Michael J. Fox never replaced Stoltz in the iconic role?

Well, writer  David Guy Levy has written a six-issue digital comics series about an alternative universe (the one where, I presume, Terry Gilliam actually directed Harry Potter) where the Back to the Future filmmakers had to go back in time to make sure Eric Stoltz stayed on as Marty.

The project actually started as a movie script, but considering that it was next to impossible to ever get this movie made, Levy decided to adapt it into a comic series… and help a good cause in the process.

You see, the first three issues of the comic will be made available for free online (with the first issue available over at EW.com). But to get issues four through six, you’ll pay $2 per issue with the proceeds going to the Young Storytellers Foundation. Six bucks to experience the world only the characters on Fringe might have seen? I’m so there.
