Happy Christmas! 2012 dominates global box office.
It’s been unseasonably warm here in Cleveland, Ohio, so it makes sense that a big-budget summer movie released in November crushed the competition at the weekend box office.
Roland Emmerich’s disaster epic 2012 took in $65 million domestically, beating the two-week gross of holiday release Disney’s A Christmas Carol in one weekened. But 2012‘s story doesn’t end there. The picture had huge international numbers, bringing in $160 million overseas for a worldwide opening of $225 million dollars.
Eat that Scrooge.
