The Day After 2012
Usually Roland Emmerich’s disaster porn leaves me wanting to know how the characters survive in the post-apocalyptic world left after the events in the film. With 2012, it looks like we’ll actually get to find out.
EW reports that 2012 executive producer Mark Gordon, who’s worked as an exec on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, will develop a TV series based in whatever is left of the world after the Mayan calendar ends.
Here’s what Emmerich told EW:
The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster… The movie talks about the varied reactions people have in the face of disaster and who should survive and how we carry on and what parts of our culture do we save. The TV show could carry on all that.
The show looks to be setting up shop at ABC where Gordon has a relationship. Interesting.
