Another ‘Scream’ trilogy for Cox and Arquette? – TFC Morning Report
Top Story: Scream writer Kevin Williamson is penning another Scream trilogy, and he has approached David Arquette and Courteney Cox to reprise their respective roles as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers. There’s no word yet as to whether Neve Campbell will be in the picture, but really, what else does she have going? (EW)
In Other News: Jack Nicholson is in talks to join James L. Brooks’ untitled comedy. Nicholson would take the role of Paul Rudd’s character’s father, a role originally offered to Bill Murray. The casting would reteam Nicholson with the filmmaker who directed him to two of his three Oscars. Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson also star. (Variety)
Universal is finally bringing Stretch Armstrong to the big screen, part of its six-year deal with Hasbro to turn toys and games into feature films. The picture is slated for an April 15, 2011 release. (erc BoxOffice)
Catch Me If You Can writer Jeff Nathanson has signed on to write and direct an adaptation of the nonfiction book The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero for Summit Entertainment. (THR)
In movie musical news, Jason Moore, the director of Broadway’s Shrek: The Musical, is set to helm a musical re-imagining of the 1983 film Valley Girl for MGM. (THR)
