TFC Morning Report – Tuesday, April 21, 2009 – Columbia moves on Angels & Demons follow-up
Top Story: Doubleday just announced the release of Dan Brown’s next Robert Langdon adventure The Lost Symbol, and Columbia Pictures is already looking ahead to the movie. The studio, which has the rights to the Langdon character, is prepping its The Da Vinci Code sequel, Angels & Demons, for a May 15 release. While it does that, Columbia will get the first chance to nab Brown’s The Lost Symbol rights, as owners of the Landgon character. (Variety)
In Other News: Brothers in leaked on-set tirade tapes, Christian Bale and director David O. Russell will team for Russell’s The Fighter. No, the irony is not lost on us. Mark Wahlberg is also set to star. (Variety)
Marlon Wayans will star in Paramount and Plan B’s adaptation of The Year of Living Biblically. (THR)
