TFC Morning Report – Wednesday, April 1, 2009 – Toy Story 1 & 2 to be re-released as a 3D double feature
Top Story: Disney announced that earlier plans to re-release Toy Story and Toy Story 2 have changed with the films receiving simultaneous 3D launch in October. The movies will be billed as a double feature and only appear in theaters for two weeks. Word is the trailer for Toy Story 3 will be attached. (Variety)
In Other News: Gossip Girl‘s Josh Schwartz will make his feature directorial debut with an adaptation of the novel Bright Lights, Big City. The work was last adapted into a 1988 Michael J. Fox film. (Variety)
Will Arnett and Michael Shannon have hopped on board the Warner Bros. adaptation of the comic book Jonah Hex. The pair will join Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox. (THR)
James Franco and his Pineapple Express costar Danny McBride are re-teaming for the fantasy comedy Your Highness. The film about two spoiled princes who are forced to save their kingdom was written by McBride and Ben Best. (Variety)
