Top Story: The Friday the 13th “reboot” hits theaters tomorrow and now it looks like a remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is also moving forward. HR reports that music video director Samuel Bayer will helm the Elm Street relaunch.

In Other News: Oscar who? The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan just got seven-figures from WB for a script that he will also direct. Variety says the sci-fi project, Inception, will hit theaters in the summer of 2010.  Don’t worry. The third Nolan-verse Batman movie isn’t coming until 2011.

Also from Variety, John Malkovich will go head to head with Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex. The legendary thesp signed to play a Civil War-era plantation owner who blames Hex for his son’s death.

Tom Cruise. Denzel Washington. David Cronenberg. I’m there. Cruise is looking to join Matarese pitting superstar actor versus superstar actor in this Robert Ludlum-adaptation.  Cronenberg will direct.
