First Look At Michael Jai White As The Bronze Tiger In ARROW
DC anti-hero the Bronze Tiger will make his Arrow debut in the second episode of season two. And thanks to TV Guide, we have our first look at Michael Jai White as the martial arts master.
The Bronze Tiger’s motivations are simple, according to showrunner Marc Guggenheim:
“He’s basically the best of the best, so he has come to Starling City to see if the Hood can give him a challenge… To that end, he has aligned himself with China White [Kelly Hu] and the Chinese Triad.”
In DC mythology, the Bronze Tiger is a longstanding member of the Suicide Squad, a team of incarcerated supervillains who work for the government. The team is also often lead by Amanda Waller, who will also make her Arrow debut in the sixth episode of season two. And according to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, the Suicide Squad will play a role in season two.
One of the best parts about Arrow is that the comic-loving creative team has given itself room to make the existing DC mythology fit its vision of the Arrow-verse. So don’t expect Arrow‘s squad to fit the mold entirely. But it’s worth noting that Bronze Tiger does come from Central City, the hometown of Barry Allen/The Flash. Things certainly seem to be coming together nicely.
