Marc Webb Hints At A SPIDER-MAN 4 Superhero Rally
If X-Men has finally figured out how to expand its universe with an X-Force movie and Marvel is planning Avengers 2 & 3, they why can’t Marc Webb’s Spider-Man series join in on the fun?
According an interview on Crave Online, March Webb is considering using the expanded list of heroes in Spider-Man’s world for the fourth film. Here’s what he had to say to:
I think [for] the fourth movie, what we’ve discovered is there are so many ancillary characters, that have enormous, cinematic potential that there may be other ways to exploit those characters, in a way that is exciting and fun and worthwhile. It might not just be a Spider-Man movie.
He continued:
You know, what was fun about the comics is that there’s an entire sort of encyclopedia of characters and stories and histories and nuances and idiosyncrasies and off-shoots. I think that that is something that seems to be really successful and has a lot of potential so it’s sort of, as yet, undefined, but intentionally so.
So who would be in that team-up? We know Black Cat’s Felicia Hardy is being introduced in the next film and there’s always good Green Goblin potential. But with some many other allies owned by Marvel and Fox, how deep into the mythology is Webb willing to go to expand his Spidey-verse?
I’ll admit, I’m not a seasoned Spider-Man aficionado so if there’s anyone from the mythos you’d like to see in Webb’s superhero rally, leave it in the comments below.
