Sure, there’s not an original movie in the bunch, but with franchises like these, who needs something shiny and new.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron

The sequel to the biggest superhero movie ever adapts takes its title from 10-issue limited series, which features an even bigger, badder threat to Earth than the Chitauri.

2. Untitled Superman/Batman Movie

Finally, after all these years Batman and Superman will be on the big screen together in a movie that doesn’t involve Legos.

3. Star Wars: Episode VII

The man who turned Star Trek into Star Wars finally gets to take on the franchise he always wanted to. At the very least J.J. Abrams is better than George Lucas, so they should probably call this one A New Hope.

4. Independence Day 2

Will Smith may not be back, but who cares. Nearly 20 years after the original film was release we finally get to see the long-gestating sequel.

5. Jurassic Park 4

After one bad sequel and a meh one, we’ll finally have a fresh return to Isla Nublar. Just please, no talking Raptors.

6. Terminator 5

Like Jurassic Park 4, the two preceding sequels to this movie weren’t that great. But with Arnie back again and the movie launching a brand new trilogy, the chances for success are as high as the stakes.

7. Assassin’s Creed

Fans of the video game have been waiting for this day for a  very long time. With Michael Fassbender in the role of the assassin and a playwright (read: literate person) scripting the film, Assassin’s Creed has the chance of being the first great video game adaptation.

8. Ant-Man

Two words: Edgar Wright. With that man in charge of one of Marvel’s most unlikely superhero adaptations, Henry Pym’s story could be geek heaven.

9. Bond 24

Sam Mendes, the man who directed the best Bond movie in my lifetime, is coming back to direct the 24th installment of the Bond franchise.

Release Date: Nov. 6, 2015

10. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part II

With the exception of Avengers: Age of Ultron, it’s unlikely that any film in 2015 will be bigger than this one. (Sorry, Supes.) The grand finale to The Hunger Games saga could even be bigger than the final Harry Potter film, depending on the worldwide reception. (Domestically, the first film already beat every Harry Potter adaptation.) It’s the perfect way to end the year of blockbusters.
