New York City is a film lover’s Mecca
I’m just getting back into the swing of things after spending five days in New York City. I snapped a few pictures of some major landmarks that have made it into the pictures. There’s certainly the potential for a million of these photos, so when I go there for pleasure instead of business, I’ll have to get more.
Here’s Bethesda Fountain, which you may have seen recently in the movie Enchanted.
Bethesda Fountain also plays a role in Tony Kushner’s play Angels in America, which was turned into an HBO miniseries and directed by Mike Nichols.
My hotel was near Central Park and within walking distance of Columbus Circle. You may remember the Time Warner Center from Cloverfield. It was the building with one tower leaning into the other tower. It may hold the record for the newest building to ever be destroyed in a motion picture.
I also visited the New York Public Library, where that famous Ghostbusters opening sequence was filmed.
And, of course, there’s the King Kong building, more commonly known as the Empire State Building.
Since I can’t go too long without mentioning The Dark Knight, here’s a massive advertisement in Times Square that featured Heath Ledger as the Joker.
