American Gladiators: The Movie – TFC Morning Report
Top Story: American Gladiators: The Movie? That’s right, kids. The production company behind the competition show is going to show WWE Films how it’s done when it brings Nitro, Blaze, Titan, Turbo and the rest to the big screen. Here’s what I’m thinking: starring Arnold Schwarzenegger with Paul Michael Glaser directing. (Variety)
In Other News: Consolidated Pictures Group picked up the distribution rights to I Love You Phillip Morris. The film stars Jim Carrey as a convict who falls in love with his cellmate (played by Ewan McGregor). Glen Ficarra and John Requa direct. (Variety)
Talk about overdosing on star power. New Line Cinema has an all-star cast lined up for Garry Marshall’s rom-com Valentine’s Day. Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher are in final negotiations to star. And that’s not even the final cast yet. (THR)
In other Valentine’s Day news, Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams will star in the indie drama Blue Valentine. (Variety)
And Rachel Weisz has signed on to play classic MGM starlet Hedy Lamarr in a biopic titled Face Value. The picture will cover Lamarr’s life including her post-acting career in science. Amy Redford directs. (THR)
