So Fox’s GOTHAM Series Will Be More Batman-y Than We Thought
When we first heard about Fox’s TV series Gotham, we assumed it would simply be about the evolution of Jim Gordon from beat cop to commissioner, more of a cop drama. But that may not be the case after all.
At the Television Critics Association conference, Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly gave a little more detail about what to expect from the series… and it’s a little battier than we first assumed.
Reilly describe the series this way:
The show will arc a young Bruce Wayne from a child (around 12) into the final episode of the series, when he will put on the cape.
And according to Deadline, major Batman villains like the Riddler, Catwoman, the Joker and the Penguin are all joining the fun. (Catwoman, who we now must assume is either a 10-year-old girl or a full-on cougar in her later years.)
“We will see how they get to become who they are as Gotham is teetering on the edge… It is an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality.
So less Law & Order and more… um… Hannibal? Alrighty then. I’m skeptical, but hey, it’s a Batman TV show. It’s not like people aren’t going to watch.
