Cowabunga! A new live-action Ninja Turtles movie is on the way
“We’re excited to bring this story to a whole new generation of moviegoers as well as the legions of fans that have made the Turtles – Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael as well as Splinter, April O’Neil, Casey Jones and, of course, the great villain Shredder – a part of their world for 25 years.”–Scott Mednick, producer.
Okay, I’m a bad Ninja Turtles fan. I didn’t know that the Ninja Turtles were turning 25 years old this year. But the announcement of a new movie is one way to get my attention. I was afraid I’d completely forgotten about the Turtles when I tried to block out any memory of a certain craptastic computer animated movie.
I’m willing to give Mirage Studios a mulligan on that one though. Trying to reboot a franchise is tough. Just ask the guys who produced Superman Returns. Wait. What? One of them is producing the new live-action Ninja Turtles movie too? Crap. People aren’t going to like that.
Alright. One good movie. That’s all I ask. I won’t even fault you if there’s no Krang in the reboot (but I’m counting on it if there’s a sequel). Just please, none of this:
