Director Tom Hooper (The Damned United) saw his period drama The King’s Speech take the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival today. If you’re watching Oscar, that means you now only have 9 other spot to fill on your Best Picture predictions card. With People’s Choice Award’s history as an Oscar precursor and stars Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush being buzzed, you can bet that the anglophiles in the Academy will line-up behind this UK production.
