Top Story: Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith in Joe Carnahan’s big screen adaptation of The A-Team. He would join Bradley Cooper who’s rumored to be in talks for the role of Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck. (Variety) In Other News: The Hangover recovered and has taken the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office away from Up. (erc Box Office) Harry Potter fans will have to wait a few extra weeks for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince IMAX version.  The large-format release was pushed back to July 29 to give Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen a longer run. Top Story: Director McG is looking to bring the Tony winning musical Spring Awakening to the big screen. The Terminator Salvation helmer is developing the project with the original book and lyrics writer Steven Sater under the banner of his Wonderland Sound and Vision. Warner Bros. first look deal puts the studio in line to distribute. (THR) In Other News: There’s no such thing as too much Obama. HBO has picked up the rights to Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime and will develop a telefilm based on the book, which chronicles the 2008 presidential election campaign. TFC Morning Report – Wednesday, April 1, 2009 – Toy Story 1 & 2 to be re-released as a 3D double feature

Top Story: Disney announced that earlier plans to re-release Toy Story and Toy Story 2 have changed with the films receiving simultaneous 3D launch in October. The movies will be billed as a double feature and only appear in theaters for two weeks. Word is the trailer for Toy Story 3 will be attached. (Variety) In Other News: Gossip Girl‘s Josh Schwartz will make his feature directorial debut with an adaptation of the novel Bright Lights, Big City. The work was last adapted into a 1988 Michael J. Fox film. (Variety) Will Arnett and Michael Shannon have hopped on board the Warner Bros. adaptation of the comic book Jonah Hex. The pair will join Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox. Final Oscar 2008-2009 Nomination Predictions

Will The Dark Knight get its Best Picture nod? Will Slumdog nab the most nominations? Will Woody Allen spoil the day for another director? Will Kate Winslet get the two nods she deserves? What’s going to happen?! Tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. EST/5:30 p.m. PST the Academy will announce the Oscar nominees. Anyone who has watched the Oscar knows there are bound to be surprises. People are starting to doubt The Dark Knight, but I’m not betting against it. TDK fans will have their day.
