Top Story: The Weinstein Company has moved Oscar contender Nine to December, taking it out of direct competition with the Weinsteins’ other late-year releases, The Road and A Single Man. The Rob Marshall movie musical will bow in New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 18, then open wide on Dec. 25. (Variety) In Other News: Another movie musical has added a cast member. Kristen Bell will join Christina Aguilera, Cher, and Stanley Tucci in Burlesque, playing Aguilera’s female rival at a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club. Steve Antin directs. Top Story: Columbia Pictures is prepping a sequel to its 2007 Marvel adaptation of Ghost Rider. David Goyer is in talks to write to story and supervise the production. Nicolas Cage is expected to return in the title role. (Variety) In Other News: David Cronenberg is in talks with Fox to write and possibly direct a remake of his 1986 sci-fi film The Fly.
