Guillermo Del Toro Says There’s A Plan For DC Properties at Warner Bros.

The last time we heard Guillermo del Toro talk about Justice League Dark, his film adaptation of the DC super team of Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre, Zatara and Zatanna, he said the film was in “very active development.” But that was during Pacific Rim press and he’d probably have said anything to keep all eyes on that movie. The bad news is there’s nothing else to say about Justice League Dark‘s progress, but in an interview with Cinefilos.it, del Toro had a few things to say about Warner’s grand plan: “We’re still on (Justice League Dark), writing, and hopefully it will happen but there are no developments that are new. We’re still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark....

DOWNTON ABBEY Renewed For A Fifth Season

Posted by on Nov 11, 2013 in The Tube | 0 comments

Downton Abbey‘s fourth season doesn’t even premiere in the US until January 5, but PBS and ITV have already agreed on a season five. ITV announced that it has ordered another season of the hit show about the Crowley family and their staff in early 20th century Britan, and PBS, which co-produces the show, has announced a pick up as well. The news came on the same day that the final episode of season four aired in the UK. So yeah, why are you reading this? Shouldn’t you be out pirating the UK version of the series instead of waiting for it to air here in the States. I’m starting to get disappointed in you, Internet....

The CW Developing Series Based On DC’s Hourman

Posted by on Nov 7, 2013 in The Tube | 0 comments

While all eyes are on what’s happening with Batman Vs. Superman, the CW is busy building it’s DC superhero stable on TV. Between the success of Arrow and the upcoming spinoff The Flash, the broadcast network has proven more successful in building an viable superhero universe than any of the cinematic iterations over the past two decades. Now, the CW is in the early stages of bringing Golden Age hero Hourman to the small screen. According to Deadline, which first reported the project development: The project centers on a brilliant yet troubled pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that the visions that have plagued him since childhood are actually glimpses of tragic events occurring one hour in the future. Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way. Good...

This Single Promo Image For SHERLOCK Season 3 Just Isn’t Enough

Posted by on Nov 5, 2013 in The Tube | 0 comments

Normally, I’d steer away from posting a single promo image from pretty much anything. The last time I did was probably the first shot of Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel. So you understand that words cannot describe my excitement for the new season of Sherlock. And we’re really just scrounging for crumbs like the new, haunting promo image above. We haven’t seen much other than a few seconds of similarly-themed footage in this short teaser, in part because there’s been nothing to promote on the BBC side of things. They haven’t even set a premiere date. But for us in the States, we already know that Sherlock and Holmes will return to face Charles Augustus Magnussen on January 19, 2014, on PBS. Cannot...

S.H.I.E.L.D. Calls In The Hammer. THOR: THE DARK WORLD Aftermath Episode Set For November.

Posted by on Nov 2, 2013 in Big News, The Pictures, The Tube | 0 comments

I’ll be honest. I haven’t watched S.H.I.E.L.D. since the show’s third episode. The series is missing a few key elements of any modern TV series, most importantly an interesting meta-narrative that ties the season together. (At least that was the case when I stopped watching.) Short of throwing up the Bat Signal (mixing comic metaphors, I know) and have Joss Whedon supervise the show, there aren’t many options for improvement. Except crossovers. Lots and lots of crossovers. According to Deadline, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have an episode on the Nov. 19 titled “The Well,” which is described thusly: In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team. Whether or not the blonde bombshell will...

There’s A CHARMED Reboot In The Works At CBS

Posted by on Oct 28, 2013 in The Tube | 0 comments

Witches are hot right now. Just ask anyone watching American Horror Story: Coven. And it looks like CBS may just try to take advantage of the trend with a reboot of the classic WB teen witch series Charmed. Why do we need a Charmed reboot? Well, why not. Obviously now that all of the cast members can be the mothers of high school kids (see Holly Marie Combs on Pretty Little Liars), adult charmers would fit right at home with the aging demo at CBS. But I kid the network that can’t get out of the 1990s. We don’t even know if the series will come to fruition. While CBS has a script deal in place with Party of Five‘s Chris Keyser and The Rite‘s Sydney Sidner, there’s no pilot commitment. Who knows if this will even make it in front of the cameras. Hopefully...
