What Does a Baby Computer Call It’s Father? Find Out In The Trailer For Spike Jonze’s HER

Posted by on Aug 8, 2013 in Trailers | 2 comments

After Where the Wild Things Are, a movie about childhood that’s more fun to look at then watch, I’m ready for another off-beat movie about grown-ups from Spike Jonze. Her, it looks like, delivers. The film follows Joaquin Phoenix’s Theodore as he falls in love with an artificially intelligent operating system. Scarlett Johansson voices the OS, with Rooney Mara and Amy Adams as the other women in his life. Her is the fourth feature from Jonze and the only the second that he’s doing without writer Charlie Kaufmann. The first? That was Where the Wild Things Are. Let’s just hope this film, with the screenplay by Jonze, actually has, ya know, a story and character development unlike that Wild Things script he co-wrote with David...

LONE RANGER Flop Costs Jerry Bruckheimer Final Cut on PIRATES 5? – Big 6 Morning Report

Posted by on Aug 8, 2013 in Big News, The Big 6, The Pictures, The Tube | 1 comment

The Lone Ranger is struggling to cross $100 million both at the North American and international box office. And Disney is expected to lose close to $200 million on the picture. So what are the consequences of this moderate flop? It looks like Disney wants to strip producer Jerry Bruckheimer of his final cut on Pirates of the Caribbean 5. (The Wrap) When asked about superhero cameos in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, producer Avi Arad would still “rather not say” anything. (Den of Geek) After the success of Under the Dome (which still sucks), CBS has ordered another summer series from producer Steven Spielberg. Next year, joining Under the Dome season two will be Spielberg’s futuristic sci-fi thriller Extant. (THR) Was Waterworld really a flop? Deadline crunches the numbers and says no. (Deadline) The hit animated film Foosball from Argentina, one of the biggest film ever...

Harrison Ford Wants An INDIANA JONES Sequel Even Though No One Else Does

Posted by on Aug 7, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

Watching Harrison Ford play Dr. Jones in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was almost as depressing as watching a post-stroke Dick Clark on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. He’s not the action star that he used to be. But at least Ford knows it. In an interview with the Telegraph, Ford looks at potentially reprising his role as Dr. Jones for a fifth movie this way: We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass… To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed...

MUPPETS MOST WANTED Teaser Trailer Really Wants You To Hate The Movie

I loved The Muppets. But the teaser trailer for the sequel (sequel, sequel!) really, really makes me wish the reboot failed. It is just a teaser, so take it for what you will. But about the time “Moves Like Jagger” comes on, you’ll already hate this...

Well, the not-Sorkin Steve Jobs movie comes out next weekend, which is almost as exciting as buying a re-furbed iPad 1 on eBay. Still, you can’t help but appreciate how hard the Jobs team is trying. In this latest clip from the movie Jobs, ac-tor Ashton Kutcher as Jobs gets upset at people not seeing his brilliance. Kutcher must know exactly how Jobs felt, which makes him perfect for the role, right? Check it...
