It seems like such a long time ago that rumors of Bryan Cranston being cast as Lex Luthor surfaced on the internet, so long that it almost seemed like there must be some truth to it. But in reality, it was only about a week ago when CBN reported that Cranston signed on to play Lex Luthor for as many as six movies. Without an outright denial, that rumor made it all the way to the AP, Yahoo! Movies and Rolling Stone. Just as Labor Day weekend marks the official end of summer, the Telluride Film Festival, which wraps up today, marks the official start of Oscar season. ARROW Adds To Its Universe: Amanda Waller Will Be In Season Two
Arrow‘s universe just got a little bigger… and badder. According to SpoilerTV, the sixth episode of Arrow‘s second season will include the introduction of villain/anti-hero Amanda Waller. The synopsis also suggests the introduction of A.R.G.U.S., or Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans, a group lead in the New 52 comics by Col. Steve Trevor and Amanda Waller. (How true that part is, we don’t know.) While it’s no surprise that Waller would make an appearance in Arrow, the introduction of A.R.G.U.S. is interesting. Are they also planning to include Trevor? Will this connect up with the long in development Wonder Woman TV series? Moreover, what purpose does A.R.G.U.S. serve without a Justice League? So many nerdy questions that need answered. STAR WARS VII Casting Rumors: Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood Up For Roles
About the only thing we know for certain about the Star Wars VII cast at this point is that Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford are returning, and that the filmmakers are looking for a specific cast of characters for roles in the upcoming blockbuster. Last month, there were rumblings that both Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling were up for parts in the film, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker’s sons. While that doesn’t seem to have panned out, there’s a new pair of less substantial actors being linked to the film. First is Alex Pettyfer, who played Magic Mike’s apprentice in Magic Mike. Pettyfer is up for as yet unnamed role in the film, according to Latino Review, which speculates that he might be taking on the role of Luke’s son instead of Gosling.
