Harrison Ford Is Still Undecided About STAR WARS 7

Posted by on Oct 11, 2013 in Big News, The Pictures | 0 comments

Harrison Ford hasn’t been as forth coming with details on his Star Wars 7 involvement as Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. Now, the star is saying publicly that he still doesn’t know if he’ll actually be in the sequel trilogy. During an speaking with the BBC’s Graham Norton, Ford said he has ‘not quite made the choice’ as to whether to reprise the iconic role of Han Solo in the new films. Though to be far, as Screen Rant points out, Disney and Ford may be holding out on any formal announcement until Thor: The Dark World and Ender’s Game are released, so as not to suck the air out of the room for either movie, Disney’s or Ford’s. So even if Harrison Ford is already officially signed on for the movie, don’t expect to hear anything until November. Both the actor and the...

FANTASTIC FOUR Casting Shortlist Includes Saoirse Ronan, Kit Harington and Kate Mara

Posted by on Oct 11, 2013 in The Pictures | 2 comments

The Fantastic Four reboot over at Fox already has X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg on board to rewrite the superhero team flick. And The Chronicle director Josh Trank is at the helm. However, as far as casting goes, we’ve only heard that Michael B. Jordan of Fruitvale Station is the leading candidate to play Johnny Storm. We haven’t heard a lick about who will play Sue, Reed or Ben. Over at Deadline, it seems like things are finally moving forward for other characters in the F4 mythology. According to the site, Skins’ Jack O’Connell, Spectacular Now‘s Miles Teller and Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington are in the running for the role of Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards. Sue Storm casting is also underway with the top choices right now looking like Lovely Bones‘ Saoirse Ronan, House of Cards’ Kate Mara and The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie. If...

Box Office: GRAVITY Breaks October Opening Weekend Record

Posted by on Oct 7, 2013 in Box Office | 0 comments

I’m not a huge fan of focusing on box office numbers, which is why I don’t post weekly top ten lists. But every once in a while, something extraordinary happens at the box office. For Gravity, it was one of those moments. Alfonso Cuarón’s space thriller beat pretty much everyone’s expectations to a pulp when it opened at $55 million. There are summer blockbusters that don’t get that kind of opening. The total, helped along by 3D ticket sales and a wonderful marketing campaign, was enough to give Gravity the record for biggest October opening of all-time, surpassing Paranormal Activity 3. And with that, Gravity has further positioned itself as an Oscar contender. In fact, most pundits now have it just behind the front runner 12 Years a Slave in the race for Best Picture, while Sandra Bullock is now in a neck-and-neck race with...

WB CEO Singles Out Wonder Woman As The Next Big DC Franchise?

Posted by on Oct 7, 2013 in The Pictures, The Tube | 0 comments

One of the great frustrations for any DC fanboy is that Wonder Woman still hasn’t had a  proper big screen adaptation. And Dubya Dubya hasn’t had a decent TV series since Linda Carter’s show in the 1970s. In fact, short of the Wonder Woman DVD movie that came out in 2009 (which should be used as the model for all WW adaptations), she may be the most under-utilized of all the DC properties. But superhero movies, both Marvel and DC alike, are regular sausage fests. So having a female superhero in the lead role is something that should be on every studio agenda right now. Over at WB it apparently is. This weekend at an entertainment lawyer’s convention Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara, hot off his deal with J.K. Rowling for more Harry Potter films, singled out the Amazing Amazon as a DC...

Surprise. Surprise. Marc Forester Won’t Be Back For WORLD WAR Z Sequel

Posted by on Oct 4, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

This might be the most obvious news you’ll hear all day, but it looks like Marc Forester isn’t directing the World War Z sequel. The change was confirmed in Brad Pitt’s cover story interview with the Hollywood Reporter: Plan B also is developing a sequel to Z, which still is in its nascent stages, though director Marc Forster won’t be back. “We are talking about it,” says Pitt. “We are going to investigate a script. We have a lot of ideas we will cull from. Nobody is writing just yet, but we are compiling our ideas.” Forester is pretty much like that captain of the Costa Concordia who abandoned his sinking ship, making Brad Pitt the team that hauled the cruiseliner upright. Pitt may have got the last laugh when the film made $500 million after behind-the-scenes drama was very publicly aired, but it’s hardly surprising that...

Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen Finally Confirmed For AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Posted by on Oct 4, 2013 in The Pictures | 1 comment

The rumors have been circulating for weeks now but we’re about as close to an official confirmation on The Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch casting as we’ve ever been. First, there’s Elizabeth Olsen who was rumored to take the role of Scarlet Witch after Saoirse Ronan turned it down. Samuel L. Jackson may have spilled the beans on Olsen’s casting to the Wall Street Journal, saying: “I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.” Thanks, Sam. But the sister in this brother-sister duo of Scarlet...
