There’s An IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE Sequel In The Works For Some Reason

Well, it looks like George Bailey has a completely valid reason to kill himself. Some jerks over at Star Partners and Hummingbird Prods. have decided that, no cow being sacred in Hollywood, it’s a good idea to make a follow-up to Frank Capra’s 1946 holiday masterpiece It’s A Wonderful Life. Because nothing says Christmas like mindless product consumption. According to Variety, Karolyn Grimes, who played George Bailey’s daughter Zuzu in the original film, will return to play an angel who shows Bailey’s asshole grandson a better world without him in it. So not only is it a sequel, but is pretty much undercuts the vibe of the original film? Brilliant. Generally, I’m okay with giving most anything a chance. Hell, I didn’t even feel terrible when they decided to remake RoboCop. I just shrugged my shoulders and  moved on knowing that it will never...

Adam Driver Denies BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Rumors

Posted by on Nov 18, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

Despite rumors to the contrary, Girls star Adam Driver says he’s not going to play Dick Grayson in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel. Driver denied the Wrap’s report while doing press for Inside Llewyn Davis, after a Collider interviewer asked him questioned him about Batman Vs. Superman. The interviewer asked 3 simple questions and Driver graciously responded. C: Are you a fan of Batman and Superman comics? Driver: Very much so, yeah. C: Is there any truth to the rumors you’re  going to play Nightwing? Driver: No, not that I know of. Collider goes on to ask him Driver if this was a false denial, to which Driver responded ““No! If you find out, let me know… and then I’ll know!” So if Driver isn’t Nightwing, will it be Ezra Miller or Penn Badgley, both of whom were rumored for the role...

WB Producer Confirms Dick Grayson And Bat Drones In BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN?

Posted by on Nov 18, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

Whether this is just one producer’s wishful thinking or an actual confirmation of what we’re going to see in Batman Vs. Superman, time will tell. But Warner Bros.’s Daniel Alter took set the rumor mill a buzzing after this tweet: Can’t wait for #BatmanvsSuperman.. #batfleck semi-retired/not speaking to Robin anymore.. Controlling drones from the batcave. — Daniel Alter (@DAlter007) November 15, 2013 The idea that Batman and Dick Grayson had a falling out has been part of the Nightwing rumors that have circulated the web lately, so there could very well be some truth there. And if there’s truth to what he says about Robin, then there’s possible truth about Bat Drones, too. This could mean that David Goyer isn’t just cherry picking from Frank Miller when it comes to writing the sequel to Man of Steel. He could very well...

Chris Platt In Talks For JURASSIC WORLD

Posted by on Nov 14, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

If you told me 5 years ago that Chris Platt of Everwood and Parks & Recreation would be a leading man in the movies someday, I would have probably laughed in your face. But here we are, in 2013 and Platt is about to headline one of Marvel’s most important property launches, Guardians of the Galaxy. And now, Platt is also in talks for the lead in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World. According to The Wrap, Platt is in very early negotiations now that talks with Josh Brolin have gone nowhere. Platt would join Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins who have all already signed on for the dino sequel. It’s also worth noting here that Platt, in addition to Guardians and potentially Jurassic World, is the lead voice actor in the The LEGO Movie, which is probably his most important starring...

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 Gets A Christmas 2015 Release Date

Posted by on Nov 14, 2013 in The Pictures | 0 comments

It’s rare these days to see a franchise get better with age. But through shear force of will, Tom Cruise has taken Mission: Impossible from an unwatchable mess to one of the best product placement action movies of the last decade. Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible 4 is certainly the best film in the bunch. So naturally, I’m eager to see what Cruise and the new writer/director Christopher McQuarrie come up with. Whatever it is, it better be good, because M:I 5 has chosen to hit theaters the week after Star Wars: Episode 7 in 2015. The fifth installment of the action franchise will hit theaters on Christmas Day 2015, so we’ll all get a little Tom Cruise under our tree that year. Unless the Church of Scientology objects, that...

Guillermo Del Toro Says There’s A Plan For DC Properties at Warner Bros.

Posted by on Nov 14, 2013 in Big News, The Pictures, The Tube | 0 comments

The last time we heard Guillermo del Toro talk about Justice League Dark, his film adaptation of the DC super team of Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre, Zatara and Zatanna, he said the film was in “very active development.” But that was during Pacific Rim press and he’d probably have said anything to keep all eyes on that movie. The bad news is there’s nothing else to say about Justice League Dark‘s progress, but in an interview with Cinefilos.it, del Toro had a few things to say about Warner’s grand plan: “We’re still on (Justice League Dark), writing, and hopefully it will happen but there are no developments that are new. We’re still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark....
