Yesterday we got word that David Yates would adapt Stephen King‘s classic The Stand for Warner Bros. Today we’ve learned that Jonathan Demme is taking on King’s soon-to-be-released JFK assassination novel, 11/23/63. This isn’t just your standard conspiracy theory fare. No, King’s book is about a time traveler sent from the future to prevent LBJ from assassinating JFK the president’s assassination. Well, Stephen Daldry (The Hours) might change that with his Oscar-baity 9/11 drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer. Warner Bros. released the first still of the film today, which stars Tom Hanks (pictured), as well as Sandra Bullock. Here’s the official synopsis via IMDB: A nine-year-old amateur inventor, jewelry designer, astrophysicist, tambourine player and pacifist, searches New York for the lock that matches a mysterious key left by his father when he was killed in the September 11 attacks.
