Tune-Worthy: Adam Lambert’s “Time For Miracles”

American Idol runner-up and future pop superstar Adam Lambert will be featured in 2012 with the song “Time for Miracles.” I won’t begrudge him for appearing on this soundtrack. At least it’s not for a Michael Bay flick. Plus, if Adam Lambert gets to perform on Oscar night, it’s totally worth...

Hairspray 2 doesn’t have a cast, script, or songs…

…but I’m still going to write about it. I don’t think I should break my streak of musical coverage this week just because there isn’t any news. (Four days in a row!) Mark Malkin over at E! Online posted a couple less-than-juicy quotes from Hairspray director Adam Shankman, a man who is closing in on publicity whore territory after all the news he’s been in this week. (Kidding Adam. I heart you. Can’t wait for your Oscars.) “We are looking for a writer right now,” [Shankman] said. “There’s no music written. It’s just a bunch of ideas. No one’s signed on to do it.” At least their looking for a writer. A lot of people think this is a bad idea, but I say anything that reunites Shankman, composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman, and dancing queen Zac Efron Nikki...

Shell-Shocked: Nickelodeon Nabs NINJA TURTLES

Posted by on Oct 22, 2009 in Random | 0 comments

You know how all those Marvel fans felt when Disney bought their favorite comic book heroes? Well, I wish we Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans were lucky enough to have Disney buy the turtles. ComingSoon.net reported yesterday that Nickelodeon has acquired the worldwide rights to Mirage Studios’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’d like to have the same faith I had in this acquisition as I did when Iron Man joined the Mouse House, but I trust that Disney isn’t going to ask Marvel not to be Marvel. Any hope of getting a motion picture that closely resembles the original TMNT comics has been dashed with this purchase. From the Nick press release on CS: Nickelodeon also announced plans to develop a new CG-animated television series based on the popular superhero franchise, anticipated to premiere in 2012. Additionally, in partnership...

GLEE gets an early DVD release

Posted by on Oct 22, 2009 in Random | 0 comments

What are you doing with those gift cards you’re getting for Christmas? Fox hopes that you plan to purchase Glee on DVD. THR says that Fox will release Glee: Season 1 – The Road to Sectionals on Dec. 29. This mid-season release, featuring the show’s first 13 episodes, follows a similar pattern that SciFi SyFy used when issuing the Battlestar Galactica series on DVD. As far as I know, this is the first time a broadcast series has ever been released this way. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) When you have an obsessed fan base, why not take advantage of them by forcing them to shell out extra cash for the show they love? Start saving those pennies Gleeks. You’re going to have to buy another DVD set come...

Jolie does GUCCI

Posted by on Oct 21, 2009 in Random | 0 comments

Director Ridley Scott wants Angelina Jolie in Gucci, according to Variety. Jolie would play Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Reggiani was sentenced to 29 years in prison for hiring the hitman who killed Gucci. The Fox 2000 film is looking at a 2010 production start. Oh, this movie could be all sorts of fun. Drama, fashion, and murder! One things for sure: it’s got to be more interesting than this season of Project Runway. If only someone a little sassier than Ridley Scott were at the...
