While I do a lot of awards watching here, there’s one end of the year list that I look forward to more than any other: The Library of Congress’ list of National Film Registry additions. This year, Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, easily one of the greatest motion pictures ever made, finally makes the list, along with classics like Gilda, Mary Poppins and The Right Stuff. As always, lesser known arthouse fare like Decasia, the most recently released film ever added to the NFR, as well as cult faves like Forbidden Planet, will also be preserved alongside those immortal classics. Here’s the full list of this year’s selections: Bless Their Little Hearts (1984) Brandy in the Wilderness (1969) Cicero March (1966) Daughter of Dawn (1920) Decasia (2002) Ella Cinders (1926) Forbidden Planet (1956) Gilda (1946) The Hole (1962) Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) King of Jazz (1930) The Lunch Date...

Who wasn’t absolutely blown away by Arrow‘s mid-season finale? Really, if you weren’t, you probably hate life. Fact. But for those of us who are madly, head-over-heels in love with the direction Arrow is headed under the creative team of Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns, well that episode was just pure wow. Of course, now we have to wait a month until the next episode of the CW’s super series hits the small screen. That isn’t stopping the team mentioned above from dropping a few hints at what we’ll see. Over at Comic Book Resources, the trio was interviewed about all things Arrow (and The Flash). For starters, the let us know exactly how (SPOILER ALERT) Roy and Slade Wilson survived the Mirakuru serum injections: What’s fun for us, as writers, is we see what Roy’s potential is to go down that...

Following in the footsteps of Marvel and Fox’s X-Men, Sony will launch pictures around some of the most memorable characters from the Spider-Man comics, including the Sinister Six (as was previously rumored) and Venom. The Venom picture will be written by Transformers and Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as Men in Black screenwriter Ed Solomon. Kurtzman is set to helm the picture, in only his second outing as a film director. On the Sinister Six side of things, Whedon-ite and recently announced Daredevil writer/producer...

The X-Men Will Battle Apocalypse On The Big Screen In 2016

Posted by on Dec 7, 2013 in Big News, The Pictures | 0 comments

Could X-Men: Days of Future Past‘s time travel tale head straight into the Age of Apocalypse? That may be the case after this tweet from director Bryan Singer: #Xmen #Apocalypse 2016! — Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) December 5, 2013 Singer’s Days of Future Past may already be the most expensive superhero movie so we know it isn’t a small scale project. But if that tweet has anything to say, it won’t be the most ambitious one. That would have to go to any story incorporating Apocalypse, an the Egyptian born first mutant who wields alien technology. In Age of Apocalypse, we’re thrown into an alternative timeline where Apocalypse has conquers Earth. The only mutant who is aware of this shift in time is Bishop, who just happens to be introduced in Days of Future Past. How you could contain one, or any, Apocalypse storyline...
