Talent, persistence and luck. That’s what it took to get Dallas Buyers Club movie made. For over 20 years, Craig Borten worked to make his dream a reality. It all started with a trip from Los Angeles to Dallas, Texas, to meet Ron Woodroof. At the time, Borten wasn’t sure if he even wanted to make movies, let alone what types of films to make. The rest, as they say, is history. What made Woodroof’s story interesting was that he was homophobic, a real man’s man, but he was diagnosed with AIDS back in 1986.
