X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Crosses $500M Worldwide, A Franchise Best, In Just 9 Days
Holy snikt. X-Men: Days of Future Past just did something no X-Men film has ever done before: Crossed $500 million worldwide.
The complexity of the storytelling, the collision of two X universes and one hell of a final action sequence are certainly just a few of the things that make X-Men: Days of Future Past the most popular X-Men film, even if it’s not the best (that goes to First Class). But fans have fallen in love with the film. I even went as far as saying what they do is a bigger deal than what happened in The Avengers because it hit the hard reset button on the franchise and introduce the multiverse to superhero films in a way people can understand.
Surprising as it may be that no other X franchise film hit the half billion dollar mark worldwide. Here’s the breakdown:
- X-Men: Days of Future Past – $500 million (as of 6/2)
- X-Men: The Last Stand – $459 million
- The Wolverine – $415 million
- X2: X-Men United – $407 million
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine – $373 million
- X-Men: First Class – $353 million
- X-Men – $296 million

What’s even more astounding here is that Days of Future Past toppled the franchise record in just nine days. (I don’t know about you, but I plan on seeing it again, too.) Given that X-Men: Apocalypse will likely be an even bigger deal that Days of Future Past, you can bet that there are nothing but blue skies up ahead for Fox’s X movies.
I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail
on the head. The problem is something which not enough people are
speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I came across this during
my search for something regarding this.
Hi! I’ve been reading your blog for some time now
and finally got the courage to go ahead and
give you a shout out from Porter Tx! Just wanted to tell
you keep up the fantastic work!
