That Kid From IRON MAN 3 Just Joined JURASSIC WORLD, Plus More Casting Rumors
I don’t like kids, but dammit if I wasn’t taken by Ty Simpkins as Tony Stark’s smart-ass sidekick in Iron Man 3. I figure if I ever have a kid, I’d want one as sharp and snarky as that one. So I can’t say I’m upset with the news that little Mr. Simpkins is the first official cast member of Jurassic World.
Simpkins has a history with the film’s producer Steven Spielberg, starring in Spielberg’s underrated 2005 sci-fi thriller War of the Worlds. He was just a little tike back then. And now this kid who was raised around aliens and Iron Man gets to play with dinosaurs. Me? I had to claw my way out of Mordor. Birth lottery, I guess.
In addition to Simpkins, Deadline is reporting that The New Girl‘s Jake Johnson, who starred in JW director Colin Trevorrow‘s Safety Not Guaranteed, and Bryce Dallas Howard are also poised to join Simpkins in Jurassic World. All good news because unlike some 2015 blockbusters that shall remain nameless (::eyes up Star Wars 7::) we’re starting to see this major project come together.
So what do you think of Ty in Jurassic World?
