Saul Goodman and Dennis Join FX’s FARGO Making The Series Infinitely Better Almost Immediately
Okay, Billy Bob Thornton is one thing, but having that Coen regular join the brothers’ upcoming TV adaptation of their film Fargo didn’t make it a must-watch. Knowing that the series was always going to be a hard sell, the Coens may have done the one thing that will actually get people to watch the show without question: Casting Bob Odenkirk and Glenn Howerton.
And suddenly, we care about Fargo.
Bob Odenkirk, of course, is coming of one of the greatest, grittiest comedic roles in TV history. But the comedy genius also starred in Mr. Show, arguably the best comedy of the 90s. (Sorry, Seinfeld.) Howerton, in turn, stars in another great, gritty comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which I can tell you as someone originally from Pennsylvania captures my people perfectly.
Odenkirk will play Deputy Bill Olsen from Bemidji, Minnesota, which is actually a place. Howerton will play the hilariously named personal trainer Don Chumph. I forget who Billy Bob Thornton plays to be honest. And really I don’t care. Because with Odenkirk and Howerton, this show just vaulted to must-watch status.
