Ben Affleck Is “Perfect” For “Tired And Weary” Batman, Says WB Chief
Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara is learning what it takes to be a movie mogul: Kissing the ass of the biggest star in your stable.
The WB Chief spoke at an investors conference yesterday, saying that golden boy Ben Affleck is “perfect for the vision” of Batman in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel. He also described Bats as “kind of tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while.”
I’m not sure how much of a compliment that is, really. (“Hey Ben, you look like tired. That’s perfect!”) But as one of the only people in my office (it’s a nerd zone) who defended the choice to make Affleck the new Batman, I’ll take it. I’ve said before that he wasn’t on my short or long list, but I like Ben. He gave us Argo. That alone gets him some room. Plus, considering Man of Steel wasn’t what I would call a “fun” or “exciting” movie, what have we got to lose.
