Looks like Brad Pitt will get the last laugh in the World War Z production saga. Paramount announced that the film has crossed the $500 million mark world wide, making it Brad Pitt’s biggest release ever. It’s also the studio’s biggest release of the year. Yep, even bigger than Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan Into Darkness, which just crossed the $450 million mark.

So despite all the haters, Brad Pitt’s movie turned out to be watchable and entertaining enough to overcome the film’s pre-release critics. Of course, using the logic of The Lone Ranger stars and filmmakers, now that the film is successful, Brad Pitt should thank all the critics who rallied around the film after its release. Because, you know, critics are the ones who make or break blockbusters these days.
