ARTEMIS FOWL Headed For The Big Screen – Big 6 Morning Report
- Harvey Weinstein and Disney are inexplicably (okay, well, for money) teaming up for an adaptation of the best-selling children’s book series Artemis Fowl. Author Eion Colfer has described the book as “Die Hard” with fairies. We’ll see if that spirit can be brought to the big screen when Harry Potter screenwriter Michael Goldenberg writes the script. - In other book adaptation news, Sony has won a bidding war with rival studios for the rights to Thomas Sweterlitsch’s sci-fi novel Tomorrow and Tomorrow. The book takes place 10 years after the destruction of Pittsburgh, following one of the survivors who discovers a cover-up around the city’s fall. Noah Oppenheim will write the screenplay. (The Wrap)
