Neil Marshall Coming Back For GAME OF THRONES Season 4 Finale!
Forgive me as I write this because I’m literally coming off of a three-day Game of Thrones binge thanks to HBO Go. (Two seasons. Three days. Shotgunning this show is really the only way to watch it.) So there’s potential for geek-out.
In Games of Thrones Season 2, the episode “Blackwater” (Season 2, Episode 9) is the most epic and one the most memorable episodes in the entire run of the series so far. It’s the episode, more than any other, that underscores the fact this TV series is more cinematic than cinema these days. I’d even go as far as saying Game of Thrones is far and away a better fantasy epic than any of The Lord of the Rings movies. (Argue away in the comments section, folks.)
So here’s news that anyone who’s inclined to agree with what I wrote above should get really pumped about: Neil Marshall, the man who directed the “Blackwater” episode as well as the horror masterpiece The Descent, is coming back to helm the Season Four finale. That episode will reportedly focus on the Battle of Castle Black, between The Night’s Watch and the Wildlings.
I’ve not read the books, but every season just gets bigger, so I imagine this will be one of the most epic battles in the series. Now, we only have to wait a year to see it.
