Cavill on JUSTICE LEAGUE: “It’s going to be tough to achieve”
Don’t expect a Justice League movie any time soon. In an interview with ABC News, Superman himself, Henry Cavill, discussed the prospects of a Justice League movie and here’s what he had to say:
Justice League, more movies, I have no idea. Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away, I hope it’s not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don’t think it’s around the corner.
You know, it’s not like The Hulk has god-like powers or anything. This could simply be Cavill doing what we in the PR biz call managing expectations. After the success of Man of Steel and the web buzzing with sequel rumors, it’s completely necessary. But me, I’d rather see a a great Superman adaptation or a World’s Finest movie next rather than Justice League. There’s just too much that can go wrong at this point, and WB being a mess right now isn’t going to help anything.
