We’re told by insiders familiar with Abrams’ and Fogelman’s plans that FactoryMade is actually the second part of a plan that was hatched some years ago, when Abrams’ TV and studio deals (with Warner Bros. The plaintiff presented evidence that as of 2006, the year Cinemark acquired Century and the year the litigation started, Century operated 1,000 screens at 80 locations in 12 states. “We think this is a significant case for independent theater owners,” Mason told Deadline this afternoon. “In towns all over America, indie theaters are getting squeezed, in many cases by Cinemark. Kevin Smith’s Red State to Screen Nationwide in One-Night Simulcast

Smith will host a “one-night only” simulcast screening of the film and Q&A in theaters nationwide September 25. Smith will be broadcasting, and hosting live, from New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles.
