NBC’s WONDER WOMAN: Adrianne Palicki will pilot the Invisible Plane

Adrianne Palicki, better known to many adoring Friday Night Lights fans as Tyra, just landed the title role in NBC’s Wonder Woman series. Palicki, who also stars in the upcoming remake of Red Dawn, is turning into one of the breakout stars of NBC and… sigh… DirectTV’s defunct football drama. Of course, she’ll have to fill some big shoes, taking over a character thought perpetually linked to Lynda Carter.

In the reboot, from Warner Bros. TV, Wonder Woman/Diana Prince (Palicki) is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

With Palicki as the star and David E. Kelley (Boston Legal, The Practice) as the showrunner, NBC might finally have a superhero series that’s worth watching. (Disclaimer: That dig at NBC’s awful superhero shows excludes any episode of Heroes written by the great Bryan Fuller.)
